"A women’s retreat for slowing down, listening deeply, and remembering what the heart has always known."
12–15 November • New York
Over eight centuries ago, the Persian mystic Farid ud-Din Attar told the story of a gathering of birds who set out in search of the legendary Simorgh, believing they were seeking a distant king.
Their journey carried them through seven valleys—of longing, love, insight, bewilderment, surrender, and transformation. Along the way, many turned back. Others discovered that every challenge revealed another layer of themselves.
When the few remaining birds finally reached their destination, they discovered something unexpected: the Simorgh they had been searching for was not separate from them. In seeing one another clearly, they recognized what they had been seeking reflected back.
This retreat is inspired by that story.
Like the birds, we gather with our own questions, hopes, griefs, and longings—not to become someone else, but to remember what has always been waiting within.
There are seasons in life when the way forward is not found by doing more, but by listening more deeply.
A Journey Inward is an intimate women’s retreat created for those longing to step away from the demands of everyday life and return to themselves.
Through breathwork, embodied movement, contemplative practices, time in nature, Persian poetry, dance, ritual, journaling, and optional sacred journeys, we create a carefully held space where presence, clarity, and inner knowing can emerge.
We do not promise transformation. We create the conditions in which remembering becomes possible.
Guided sessions to access non-ordinary states and inner wisdom.
Somatic dance and movement to reconnect with natural intelligence.
Deep immersions into the mystical verses of Attar, Rumi, and Hafiz.
Silent walks and contemplative practices within the Upstate forest.
Organic plant-forward, Ayurvedic-inspired meals for integration.
Optional, carefully facilitated ritual spaces for deeper exploration.
We aim to balance accessibility with the real costs of holding a safe and intimate retreat. Sliding scale tiers allow those who are able to support higher levels to help make lower-cost access possible for others.
This is an application-based entry to ensure a cohesive and safe container for all participants. Brief follow-up conversations may be requested to ensure mutual fit.
